Simple Saturday: Painted Harvest for Christmas!

I have a confession!  I was not the genius who originated using the Sunflower Stamp from the Painted Harvest Photopolymer Stamp Set  as a wreath.  Nope, I swiped that from Pinterest (I have no idea who actually came up with it first; I saw it used by a number of folks, like the Crafty Hippy and Joyce Whitman from the Stampin' Scrapper ) but I tweaked their creations a smidge and made this multi-layer card that you can make at my Christmas Card Bar Event on November 17th!  ( Sign up here! ) Using Whisper White, Emerald Envy, and Real Red, this card comes together beautifully and easily!  There are three stamps, a punch (which could be optional, you could just stamp the sentiment directly beneath your wreath), and some ribbon!  This is also a great jumping off point; I could easily see it jazzed up some more with Rhinestone Basic Jewels  or some Embossing Powder .  Here's what I used for this card: Painted Harvest Photopolymer Stamp Set #144783 Merry Patterns Photopol

Throwback Thursday: Eight Glorious Years!

Hello, my friends!  Tuesday was Jordan and my's eight-year anniversary!  It's hard to believe that eight years, two kids, and a cat later has flown by so quickly!  But it's been an amazing time!  Some of our friends joke that J and I are the "perfect" couple and I'm quite proud of that fact. We do have a fantastic marriage and we really owe that to our Lord, Jesus Christ, for that!  I thank God each and every day for blessing our marriage and our unity together and we strive to always put Him first and trust in His plan and His path.  I believe that is why we have the perfect marriage! I made J a fun anniversary card using my very favorite retired Framelits, the Love Notes Framelits .  I will never, ever, ever part with them (just like I will never part with J!) and so I thought they were a fitting use for his card. Do you like "miniature" things?  I think that anything "mini" size are awesome!!  It amps up the cuteness factor x100

Tutorial Tuesday: Birthday Greetings to my Nephew!

Fun Fact about our family: not only do I have Irish Twins, but we're gonna really stretch here and say that our extended family has Irish Triplets!  My husband's sister gave birth to our nephew on October 24, 2014 (happens to be my wedding anniversary, too!) and so between October 20-24, my son, daughter, and nephew are all the same age!  How fun!  They seriously are the "Three Amigos", too!  They are always asking about each other and they're so darn cute together!  Look!  (Typical 2-year olds, eh??) Well, I made my nephew a special birthday card, utilizing the Birthday Memories Suite , but also incorporating one of my favorite stamp sets, This Little Piggy .  I actually do enjoy fussy-cutting out the little pigs and they look simply perfect  on our In-Color Cardstock, Powder Pink.  This card turned out just adorable for my adorable nephew! I know, I know---I could have used one of the animals from the Birthday Memories Suite , but I have an affinity fo

Simple Saturday: Simple Snowflake

Have you registered for my Christmas Card Bar Event coming up in November??  Registration has opened and I've already had a lot of buzz about it---so you'd better get your spot secured quickly, before this Event is full! Check out one of the cards you could very easily make at this Event!  Using just paper, one stamp, a single rhinestone, and an embossing folder that just steals the show---you can make a bunch of these beauties in no time flat! It's a lovely card that's super simple to re-create!  The focal point is the gorgeous embossed snowflake, using the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder .  Isn't it amazing how one quick element magically transforms into a gorgeous handmade work of art?!  Seriously, guys, that's it!  The embossing folder and a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel  and you've got yourself a card. I did add the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set , and since I used all white for everything

Happy 2nd Birthday to my Little HJ!

Wow.  Two years ago I gave birth to my second little miracle baby.  He was 8 pounds and 1 ounce and 21 inches of perfection.  I still remember how terribly scared I was when I first found out I was pregnant with him!  I mean, I had just  became a Mom two and a half months before---how was I supposed to handle two  babies!?  But we have learned together as a family and I couldn't be more overjoyed and enraptured with my Little Man.  As the Papercrafting Passionista, I tend to get a little crazy with parties!  So last week, in my absense, I was scrambling to put together the last-minute Pinterest ideas that I had to materialize (because hey, I'm a bit of a procrastinator at times, too!)  But HJ's little party turned out great (little is a bit of an understatement; we had about 30 people in our tiny house...) and I think he had a wonderful time! Want to see what a Papercrafting Passionista Party is like?  Well, here are some memories I'd love to share with you:

Throwback Thursday: Hallo-Scream Card!

Are you an "any occasion is the perfect occasion for a card" type person or are you more of the "birthday and maybe Christmas you get a card" type?  Well, you know what type I am and even if you're more the "birthday and maybe Christmas" type, you may just change your mind when you see this delight Halloween Card I made for my kids. Growing up, my mom put together a collection of cards that I received throughout my life.  Birthdays, holidays, special events; you name it, they are all there.  I treasure this collection of sentiments from family members and friends; some whom have passed on.  I am currently working on doing the same thing for my kids and trying to commorate each occasion with some card-like memento that will (hopefully) be treasured for years to come. With that, let me share my Throwback Thursday card and we're gonna throw it way back to a stamp set called "Fang-tastic" (I want to say this was from circa 2010!).  If you

Tutorial Tuesday: It's (almost) HJ's 2nd Birthday!

Hi Friends!  Thanks for hanging with me while I took a bit of time to get my Baby Boy's 2nd Birthday Party all ready for him!  I can NOT believe that my baby is already two!  Yikes!  Isn't it just crazy how quickly kids grow up!?  Ugh! Well, I'm not going to dwell on that  aspect of parenting---I'm going to indulge myself in doing what I love for who I love.  And that's making an extra special birthday card for an extra special boy---with some extra special components. I know that I've shared before my ultimate love  for Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper.  The thick, but not-too-thick paper quality, the ease of coordinating with the rest of the Stampin' Up! colors, the gorgeous patterns---I really can go on.  But if you haven't played with the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper , you seriously gotta grab some now!  (BONUS: It's on SALE  this month with Stampin' Up!'s Buy 3 Get 1 FREE Promo!  Go here now! ) Here's wha

Simple Saturday: Marina Mist for Baby Boy

Today's Simple Saturday card was inspired by none other than YOU!  My Loyal Readers and Instagram and Facebook Followers and Friends!  I asked everyone to vote for their favorite shade of blue for a baby boy and the winner was---Marina Mist!  This color really did work perfectly and it looks great all together for the perfect baby boy shower card! See it here: This simple card is a single layer and I stamped a cute little teddy bear from Cookie Cutter Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set  and made him hold an umbrella so I could use the "Showers of Happiness" sentiment (from the Moon Baby Stamp Set ).  I masked off all but the umbrella on a stamp that was also from the  Moon Baby Stamp Set  to stamp it into the bear's paw.  The hardest part of today's card---coloring in the umbrella---and even I didn't struggle here!  Haha! I threw in a smidge of Dapper Denim, because I really liked the contrast of the deeper blue.  I also felt that it softened the Mari

Throwback Thursday: Ice Cream Truck Birthday

Back during Sale-A-Bration 2017, I couldn't wait  to get my hands on the Tasty Trucks Photopolymer Stamp Set .  I think there were many others who were in the same boat as I was.  I saw tons on endless possibilities with this set and still do!  I've used it a lot, but I don't think that I got to play with it enough while it was actually relevant!  Haha!  So, I broke it out to pair with an unsuspecting group of Designer Series Paper--- Coffee Break Designer Series Paper .  Since I was making a birthday card for an 8-year old boy, I needed colors that were boyish, and I liked the Pear Pizzazz and the Soft Sky in that series for my card. Now, I'm not particularly grand at watercoloring, but I used a technique to "blend" my Stampin' Write Markers  using the Blender Pens  and it created a nice "faux" watercolored look on my Ice Cream Truck.  Here's my finished result: There's not a lot of frilly stuff and there's no sparkle, so I th

Tutorial Tuesday: Fall Love

This week is super busy for me!  I have a wedding, a birthday party, and a baby shower all to attend this week!  So...I have a lot of cards to make!  And that's good news, because I'm pretty sure that what I will be making is what I will be sharing this week!  (If you have a wedding this fall, birthday parties, or baby shower, then this whole week will have you covered---so stay tuned!) OK, wedding card.  Since it's a fall wedding, I wanted to do something really simple, but pretty.  And since the couple are a whimsical two, super romantic really isn't their thing.  Have you used the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set?  It is truly one of my absolutely favorites because I just love the possibilities you can have with trees!  You can change the colors of the "leaves" for all the seasons, or just leave the tree bare for some stunning winter scenes, too.  Plus, if you use this set with layers...mmm!  It's gorgeous!  Seriously.  You will get tons  of use out of this

Hellllllooo, October!

Whew!  We made it!  It's officially my very favorite month of the year---October!  While here where I live, it's still fairly warm (almost 80 degrees today!) and it may not completely feel  like October, I know that the crisp, cool air will be here before I know it! While this month is my favorite, I swear, it's also my busiest!  I have birthday parties to throw (my son's), an anniversary to celebrate (my wedding anniversary), and trick or treaters to treat (that's Halloween, my friends!).  There's an awful lot going on in the world of Papercrafting for this Passionista!  Ha! I got a little bit of a head start (OK, maybe not really, but let's just assume that I did!) and I've made a few treat toppers for my Halloween treats.  They're not packaged yet, but that's because if I buy the candy early---it will  get eaten.  And that's No Bueno for me and my diet. Here's an image of one of the treat toppers I made: It came toge
